I assume the Fordham reference is meant in a derogatory way. I continue to trust the staff to evaluate talent. You do realize if we refused to offer kids who only had P5 offers we would not had Blidi, Smallwood, and countless others or have G. Davis, R. Levy, Byron Jones, etc., etc.

But then again, we have so many 6'4" receivers, I could see why we would not want more size at the position.

There is a clear distinction now between P5 and everyone else. UConn will not be beating P5 teams in recruiting. Just look at New England this year. So the staff looks for kids that they believe can play, that they have a realistic chance to get. More like a return to the earlier Edsall years.

One of the reasons Diaco was hired was because he was supposed to be able to recruit. Even when teams are bad (and I mean 2-10 bad) the local, tri-state Div. 1/BCS teams have always been able to reel in at least 2 to 5 3 star players. If Diaco gives up on local 3 stars (no evidence he has) and believes that he can only get the leftovers (again, no evidence that he has), then he is the wrong guy. Recruiting is off to its usual Uconn slow start (as has been pointed out to me earlier in this thread) but it better start rolling with some guys that have other BCS level offers before the first game hits. Otherwise, your scenario becomes reality.
