If NC State doesn't rebound better today than they did against the Hokies on Sunday, they will lose. Elizabeth Kitley scored 30 points, but at least 10 of those points were on second-chance opportunities. VaTech has two long-range shooters hitting more than 40% from THREE. People have dismissed VaTech because of their record but they have played everyone tough and has the weapons to win one. I just get a feeling that this time, they persevere and come out on top.

All of that being said...today while teaching, I created two math problems on the fly for my students which ended up giving the same answer. I got lucky today...and hope that carries over and somehow, through the ether, is enough luck to pull NC State through one more time.

I'm expecting another tight affair, either way. As far as I know, Elissa Cunane will still be out for NC State.

The ACC refs are the worst I have seen in Women's basketball. It seems every game comes down to how they are either letting a team be overly aggressive or not. Their is no consistency from game to game.

She is still quarantining at her family home in Greensboro, following COVID protocol. Coach Moore stated on Sunday that she probably would not be available today, with a possibility she might see the floor for a limited time against Louisville.

He also said the entire situation is fluid and for us to check in at 3:45 pm during the radio pre-game to get an update on Cunane's status.

Camille Hobby is starting at center for NC State and has drawn a foul on Kitley already. That matchup will be crucial to watch as the game unfolds.

Halftime: NC State leads, 30-26. Wolfpack Women were led in scoring by Camille Hobby with 10 points...Raina Perez with 6 and Jakia Brown-Turner with 5. NC State shot 42.6% in the first half on 11 of 26, and was 1 of 7 from THREE, 7 of 12 from the FT line.

Virginia Tech shot 33.3% on 9 of 27 from the field...5 of 13 from THREE and 3 of 4 from the FT line. The leading scorers were Cayla King and Azana Barnes with 9 points each, Georgia Amoore with 6.

NC State outrebounded VT, 22-10. Kayla Jones grabbed 7 boards and Camille Hobby 6 for the Wolfpack Women. Several players grabbed 3 for VT.

Both teams dished out 7 assists. NC State committed 8 turnovers; VT had 6 turnovers.

NC State leads in points in the paint, 12-8. VT leads in second-chance points, 9-6.

Kitley and Sheppard combined for only 2 points. Sheppard has not scored. Only 4 players for VT scored in the first half.
