The fact that Florida State is only 3 spots behind us makes this list...suspect.
Outside of the issues with FSU football, which are many, considering how many people who live in Florida and what their in-state academic choices I am not surprised that FSU is high on the list. New School in FL is a small, honors liberal arts college like Coll of NJ or SUNY-Geneseo. So for top flight business/engineering/science majors, who want to go to a public university, they really only have 2 choices - Florida & Florida St (Miami is top flight; but, private and relatively small). Assuming the demographics with respect to the number of graduating high school students, which I suspect is not the case, that means Floridia and Florida St each have a population of 9.5 million (19.5/2) to source from while UConn sources from 3 million. Thus, statistically, there are bound to be a lot of smart people in that list.
