I am sitting here watching the Duke NC State game and a thought crossed my mind...

Why have we never scheduled a home and home series with Duke? One would think with all the history between the two programs networks would be salivating over that match-up. Is Coach K afraid of putting at risk their out-of-conference home winning streak? Do they feel that we are below them because of our conference affiliation, so they find no value in playing us? Are they afraid if we beat them we would steal some of their recruiting targets? There is nothing I want to see more than kicking the living snot out of them on their court and silencing the Cameron Pansies.

We just played them two years ago at Prudential. They wouldn't agree to a home and home and they also refused the neutral site of MSG. When you're Duke you kinda have the luxury of picking and choosing the where and the when.

Agreed though, would love to play them with some regularity - more motivation to make deep runs in the tourney and meet them on the big stage

We played them at Izod (MSG had other commitments I believe) a couple years ago as Duke likes to play at least one game in the NYC area for their northern alum each season. Honestly believe Duke sees nothing to gain from a home and home with us and that we'd have a better chance scheduling a home and home with Kansas or UNC who have shown in recent seasons they're willing to schedule true road games.

I would be shocked if K would ever invite the Huskies to Cameron. You can only lose so many titles to a single team, and K is a petty like leprechaun.

Maybe when Jeff Capel takes over coaching he will schedule us. At that point all their recruits will probably be coming to play for KO.

In the past, Duke would never agree to a home and home and UCONN didn't want a loss at Cameron. Maybe with our current state, Duke would reconsider. That might get a full house at Gampel.

NC State currently providing a preview of what it would be like if UConn played Duke at Cameron. NC State up 79-73 with 1:00 left.

They have played 1 true road OOC game in the last 5 years and that was forced because it was part of the Big10/ACC challenge. The last time they lost an OOC game at home was against St. Johns in 2000. So yeah, a home and home is not happening anytime soon.

Duke doesn't do home and homes with anybody. I honestly can't remember the last time they scheduled a road game. St. Johns @ MSG doesn't count.

Kentucky seems to be moving away from that, too, though they've still maintained the deal with Louisville and they've played @ UCLA and @ Indiana in the recent past. Hell, even Syracuse has scheduled a home and home with Georgetown and Villanova. Duke is on an island of their own when it comes to being unlikable.

I don't ever want to schedule Duke during the regular season. Games with them should only be played in March Madness. Games against Duke are special, especially because we beat them when it matters most. Duke-UConn sniffs of a late round tourney game.

We need to schedule a h/h with UNC. They would probably accept, and it would be an automatic sellout.

Dook ain't Dook this year.

They must feel like Cornwallis felt surrendering to the Colonials at Yorktown while his band played a tune called "The world turned upside down" .

They now wake up and see a football school ranked AP #6 and tied for first in the conference standings while the Dookies are scrambling at 7th in the standings.

The three lead lead programs are 6-1 in conference and Duke is 3-4.....

Duke tends to play the better OOC games in the season opening tourneys and in the Big Ten/ACC Challenge.

They have played Kansas, Kentucky, Indiana, Georgetown, and Michigan State this season and last.

I think it is as simple as that. They'd be willing to do neutral site games in the Northeast, though. I think that we have to take those now to stay relevant, but back in the Big East, my attitude was f'em.

Think we've played them about 6 or 7 times or so since '90 and none of the matches have been on the other's home floor. Probably won't ever happen.

Wow, that's something... Just out of curiosity, and because I do not want to do it, what does our rundown look like?

UConn has enough injuries now
Don't need and cant afford another from a Greyson Allen trip

Doesn't Rod Sellers still have some eligibility left? Maybe one game's worth. Ol' Grayson's melon a-bouncin' off the floor.
