We're already #1in a new metric - call it the Skiblets Championship DNA Ratio. Others can have their in-season, process-oriented, weak t-shirt-producing plaudits. What matters is March (and sometimes April)...

A better metric to cull the pretenders from this list would be total national championships divided by weeks at number 1. That would knock Gonzaga out completely.

Or all the weeks after you win a title you get credit for being #1, until the next season.

I think your method should also take into consideration the number of times a team was clearly over-rated at number one and subtract those out. I believe that would put us ahead of Dook.

I’m not sure if he even remembers Huggies' great teams from 25-30 years ago . especially 1998-2000.
Their best ranking since was in the AAC .

About thirty of the weeks were 59, 60, 61, 62 and 63. I think they were number one for every week the won nc in 61 and 62 and were #1 for all of 62 and 63 before the lost their chance to three peat losing in nc game. It started when Oscar Robertson hit there but they got better in 61 the first year without him. He never won a national championship. Made it to one or two final fours.

When I was at Uconn as a student in the 70's there was a rumor circulating at the time that the Big O had actually visited UConn during his recruitment in the 60's.

The off-season weeks after winning an NCAA championship are unquestionably weeks that the winning team IS the best college team in the country. I think you count the weeks from chip to midnight madness.

The other way is literally the dookie way and you are effectively honoring if not hanging #1 AP poll banners!

I meant ours. He was equating #weeks at #1 with being really good. NCs show that for us.
