Even if we had even scored one TD, the game would have been over. That and Thor for Ball State running through tackles. All in all, a bowl is still in place but UMass, Liberty, and Army are must wins. We need to put a fight against BC to get momentum back.

Refs were absolutely in the pockets for Ball State, but UConn just blew it. Absolutely terribke loss. Still a good chance of getting 2 more wins and calling the season a success, but this was tough and kills momentum for the next home game.

Ball State played our game better than us - wore us out on both sides of the ball. That is what we need to do to win. Once they stopped the run, our offense went nowhere. Defense got tired.
I don't know if Ball St. really "stopped the run" because Charlton stopped trying to run it down their throats after Rosa got hurt.

Had an 8 point lead and the ball after 3 quarters and self-destructed. Refs made calls for Ball State throughout the half and everything snowballed. A very frustrating loss considering that we seemed to be controlling the game the majority of the way. A lot of plays you could point at that added up to this loss.

Burns face mask penalty was the killer.

As we're two illegal man downfield by #64.

Joly deciding to spin out of a 2 yard loss and turn it in to an 11 yard loss.

Rosa on 3rd and 27 fighting for an extra yard and fumbling.

Turner not throwing passes away and taking sacks.
LB's and safeties refusing to tackle anyone.
Up 21-10 at half and had an INT and a blocked FG and still screwed it up.

Refs were obviously a mess but UConn's players were plenty culpable and Charlton's second half play not to lose strategy was horrible.

The bye week will do this team some good right about now. They are a banged up bunch & have been performing as good as anyone could have expected. I thought they had it today and think some of the bad calls & penalties took a toll on them, from their on it was quicksand.

That about sums up the day.

Sums it all up perfectly. UConn put refs in a position that they could start reffing wuth extreme bias.

So why doesn't Burns get more carries? I know he wears many hats on the team...but it felt like they could wear BS down if Burns got 25 carries....similar to how BS wore down UConn with Steele.

The good news is that Liberty is losing at home to FCS Gardner Webb. BC will likely get mauled by Wake, and UMass and Army are really bad. This season is nowhere near over.
True. Hard to swallow right now though.

I think the coaches may have gotten overconfident instead of sticking with what worked the past 2 games.

Seemed we stopped throwing over the middle after the interception. The 3 yd sideline pass took over the playbook

Anyone see the end zone replay of our last play? The middle was wide open nobody there. We had 3 receivers running the sidelines

We ran out of feet to shoot ourselves in.
Couldn’t say it any better-if UConn had just executed and stopped one ball state player, they could have won with five more penalties called against them. Offense was a sham in the second half

Feel free to correct me if wrong, but ZT was 12/12 in 1st for 122 yrds, 10.9 YPA/YPC, 2 TDs, probably a near perfect passer rating.

2nd half: 6/10, INT, 7 net yards. Even including the two sacks for 11 yards, that's 18 total pass yards, for a YPC of 3 and a YPA of 1.8.

That's bad no matter what spin you put on it.
