USA Today ranked the most important players in the Final 4. Shabazz Napier was #2 and Omar Calhoun (He who averages 0:45/game since mid-season) was in the mid 20's, 5 spots ahead of Kromah. These guys are on deadline and are forced to submit lazy puff piece columns.

It's all nonsense. No one has paid us any attention all year so no one has anything legitimate to say about the team. They know they've seen a guy named Shabazz on sportscenter highlights a few times, they know we have a young coach, and they know we're a 7 seed in the tournament that has beaten a 2, a 3, and a 4.

What's the easiest story to put together?

"They're a scrappy team (FRESH OFF A BAN FROM THE TOURNAMENT FOR APR VIOLATIONS), which has one great player named Shazam Nay-pee-yay (aka Kemba Walker, except he has no real chance of winning a championship), and are led by Kevin Ollie who sure has some great catch phrases (and is friends with Kevin Durant and LeBron! Wow!). They were lucky enough to beat an MSU team who had a bad night, but surely have no real chance against this powerhouse of a Florida team. UConn, coincidentally, was the last team to beat Florida but it was only because Florida (who has a team full of great players, unlike the Huskies) was missing it's point guard for the last 2:30. Wouldn't it be a cute story if these underdogs (get it? Cuz dogs??) won the championship?"

Today on ESPN radio they were picking best scoring players of the final 4. Started with Wilbekin and then Randle, then more Fla players, with Bazz far down the line because he would only play one game according to them.

Ryen russilo is one of the biggest idiots/trolls/dou ches in all of media. Who gives a %$@$2 what he says? He thinks it was funny and clever to say paul pasquioloni shoulda been considered for the Texas job.

Does Florida have any first round picks? I dont know much about wisconsin but i'll have a hard time believing they have a future lottery pick coming of the bench like uconn with amida.

All this really shows is that the mainstream media doesn't follow college basketball at all, which already knew.

I'm wondering who there is left to listen to on the radio.

SVP is a hack, Russillo a terrible pick up basketball player so he obviously knows nothing about the college game. Dan Patrick is unlistenable. Mike and Mike suck because one's a jets fan and the other is an ND booster. Cowherd is normally unbearable but he praised UConn so he has at least a little credibility. All the shows out of Boston are terrible because it's a pro town and they don't care about college sports. Bilas is normally good because he's been pro-UConn in the past, but he said something negative about the Huskies in March, so he lost all credibility.

Most of these guys have national platforms so they have to be jack of all trades, master of none and most of the trades include pro sports. (though Cowherd has a pretty decent grasp on College football). UConn is a 7 seed, playing out of an "inferior" conference. Fans of teams in the AAC know it is not inferior, but these guys are not counted among fans of the AAC. They see AAC. They see 7 seed. They see 2nd year coach. They see 30 point blow out by Louisville on the last day of the season. They see a non-lottery All-American who leads the team in every major statistical category. It is not a large leap from there to inferiority vs. (oh yeah) THE TOP RANKED TEAM IN THE COUNTRY!!!

UConn has beaten a 10, 2, 3, and 4 seed. There are many reasons to believe UConn can make the championship game, but the odds are certainly not in their favor.
