Final Score BC 2-1. Games ends on an error by Hill. Both runs on the day unearned.
Once again, new day same story. Pitchers and fielders have no room for error as the offense misses out on several opportunities to put runs on the board and put the game away.

Another way to describe it would be as another water torture of a game. UConn has opportunities but can't get a big hit. UConn's run scored on a wild pitch. On the other side, Zapata gave up his first hit in the 6th inning while walking six, so BC had chances to score as well. It's like this in a lot of UConn games, both teams have chances but don't put too many runs across. Ruotolo had a nice 3 innings out of the pen, striking out six.

According the latest interview with Penders on the UConn baseball blog by Chris Jones, Christian Colletti will not pitch tomorrow due to a shoulder issue. Instead, it will be a staff day, with Ryan Radue leading off the possible parade of pitchers.

If UConn had been able to hit last June in Blacksburg, they'd have beaten Oklahoma and Virginia Tech the second time around. The pitching for the Huskies was excellent, the hitting weak. And, unfortunately, UConn lost its top 2 hitters.

Much like with football team, gotta light up the scoreboard. Can't force defense (pitching and fielding) to be perfect just to be in the game.

And to make matters worse, they lost to an ACC team - and the New England team that has f---ed their chances of getting into that conference not to mention the Huskies chief regional competition. Geez how many times is UConn gonna have an ACC opponent only to lose - and then clamor on that they should be in that conference. I DO believe they should be in it, but, come on, make 'em pay.

Injuries seem to be piling up. Tabakman and now Colletti. Pitching staff is very thin now.
