The UConn weekend starting pitchers last season threw plenty of innings, and issued very few walks. Those guys are all gone.

Defense, Nowak, starting pitching, and catching defense are the biggest positives from this weekend.

Strikeouts and most of the pen are major works in progress.

Top 9th, Niko Brini and Ryan Daniels both pinch hit in this inning. Daniels with a 1 out single for the first hit of his career and first UConn at bat. Daniels with a stolen base with 2 outs. Morton with an rbi double to make it 10-4. Freeberger also doubles to make it 10-5 OSU, which is the final score. At least UConn made a little late noise.

And these are far from elite pitchers. Ohio State is expected to be a middle of the pack Big 10 team. Several notches below the Maryland team we beat last year.
