Moriarty in at shortstop, Lucas stays at 3B, Ben Maycock in right field.

Infield single brings in a run for Hartford in the 8th, followed by UConn players throwing the ball all over the place, which brings in another run. 12-4 UConn.

I love 12-4 "ugly" wins. This win was exactly what the doctor ordered - solid starter, decent bullpen and the guys who pitched were towards the bottom of the rotation. Good offensive production. I'll give them a pass on fielding.

BSB Wins Home Opener, 12-4

Notes

>The Huskies seven-run second inning was their largest scoring inning of the season.

>The Huskies five doubles tied a season-high.

>It was the second time this season that the Huskies racked up double-digit runs

>UConn is 11-0 when they out-hit its opponent.

>Under the category of "Stats That Don't Make Sense," UConn is 6-2 when it commits multiple errors in a game.

I have no problem ever stealing 2nd. It's when they try to steal 3rd for no reason that gets me.

Even better, I like stealing 2B with two outs. If you stay on 1B, more than likely it is going to take two singles for you to score. More likely that instead of two singles, you're going to wind up with an out in there.
