We are down 3-1 in the top of the 4th. Coletti is pitching. Can't lose to UMass.

Finally a big inning for UConn. Huskies up 5-3 going into 7th.

Catalina relieved Colletti in the 4th, and other than giving up a run in the 8th, sounded like he did well. Tabakman came in to get out of trouble and the last out in the 8th. I'm guessing Tabakman will pitch the 9th.

Thanks for the updates because apparently the Gametracker dude went home and is stuck at mid-7th with no further updates. The they do to us fanatics!

UConn wins 5-4. In post game interview, Penders had praise for Catalina and Tabakman. He also said that the Huskies need to clean up almost every aspect of their play. That pretty much sums up the season.

Your not kidding. Not able to follow the game today but looking at the box score not very impressive. 4 errors and looks like they left some guys on base again. Play this way tomorrow and it's probably a loss. Wonder who starts tomorrow since Tabakman pitched today?

Penders has been asked this in the WHUS post game interview the last couple of games. He's leaning towards what he calls a "staff" game, with no one going much more than two innings. Unless it is a blow out, I would expect the regulars out of the bullpen. The only guy I would not expect to see would be Catalina, who threw 51 pitches today.

Have not seen Ryan Moore pitch in almost 2 weeks. Do not believe he is hurt. Anyone know what the story is. Do realize the last 2 outings were not great, but am surprised not going back to him at all.

In retrospect, Penders has lost confidence in Moore's ability to throw strikes, and this situation really came to a head during the first Villanova game. Moore had shown control problems the previous few games he had been in. Penders in the post game interview talked about how he thought he had given Moore a big enough cushion to work through his problems when Moore came into the 9th inning of that game with a four run lead. Well Moore could barely throw a strike, walked several, and he ended up coming out of the game in favor of Tabakman. You could tell during the post game interview that Penders was extremely disappointed in Moore not being able to hold that lead. When Penders loses confidence in a pitcher, then they don't pitch in tight situations.
