I'm assuming this kid is going to wind up somewhere else on the West Coast so he's close enough to Hollywood to continue auditioning for the role of jock antagonist in high school movies. Also looks like he just came off the prototypical Duke entitled white kid assembly line, so that's an option.
His face is punchable.

I know the staff didn't recruit him in hs, but you have to wonder why a potential nba big wouldn't consider Uconn? Hurley has shown the ability to showcase bigs at high level and can boost draft stocks. (Maybe this kid isn't even that good, I did not watch UK this year so feel free to enlighten me)
Not coming here, need center ready now. We also dont pay enough.

Looks almost like he should be a “Grayson” or a “Christian” although Brody seems sufficiently Dukey to qualify for a bench role licking Cooper’s shoes clean after every game.

Conwell would be a priority if I were UConn's GM.

A 6'4 195 guard w/ two years of eligibility, ranked 166th nationally in offensive efficiency and was Indiana State's best defender. Just an all-around three-level scoring two-way guard with dog mentality. Tough kid and played the 3-guard at Indiana State.

Last season's averages: 16.6p, 5.8r, 2.5a, 61.3 2P%, 2.9 3PM, 40.7 3P%, 3.4 FTA, 85.5 FT%, 2.5a, 1.7 TO, 1.1s. Had a rough shooting night against Seton Hall, but grabbed 12 boards and dished a trio.

A plug-and-play Cam Spencer replacement.

Size and numbers, probably my favorite guard in the portal thus far.

Whoa, Mark Mitchell transferring from Duke. Experience in slipping through Sheyer's fingers.

If he likes playing defense, and I think he does, then I can think of a great place for him to play
He’s not usually the type of 4 Hurley likes (Can’t shoot really) but he has a ton of good attributes.

Indiana State’s Cream Abdul Jabbar - Robbie Avila also in portal.
slow and always plays drop coverage but has clever ways to get his shot off, is very good from 3 and is an elite passer. He is consistent at boxing out as well.

I don't like the fit.

If Karaban returns, Mitchell plays the same position. If Karaban goes pro, Mitchell doesn't shoot well enough to be out PF unless whoever starts at center next season can shoot it from three.
Agreed. I thought Mitchell was one of the big reasons why Duke was a seriously flawed team.

So next season we have returning:

Karaban(?)
Diarra
Johnson
Ball
Ross
Stewart
Singare
Andre Johnson
Roumoglou

And two FROSH:

Nowell
Abraham

Am I missing anyone?

I’ve seen some irresponsible speculation that Clingan might return. The draft is soooooo weak this year that if things break right he and Castle could be top 5 picks. Translation: See ya DC.

I selfishly want the Knicks to figure out a way to draft him. Paired with Robinson if Hartenstein walks in FA that would be the best 4 out setup in the league. I don’t think he will have any problem adjusting to the defensive 3 second lane rule.

He made 19/54 from 3 as a freshman. Wonder why he took a step backward.

I thought of that, but couldn't Karaban slide to the 3?
