Cincinnati is a BCS holder from the Big East, has very good football, good basketball and a solid market for TV and recruiting.
Take a look at their recent football win totals: 10, 11, 12, 4, 10, 10, 9, 9. Wow.
I don't think regardless of recent success that the Big 12 dips into CUSA for UCF, USF or Memphis even though the football is there.
It's up to UConn and BYU.
BYU obviously has a national following due to their religious mission, so who knows if they would be interested much like ND.
BYU football has also been solid and has history.
The question is whether they will assimilate to a league.
Then it's us.
Horrible football as of late but only four years removed from the BCS.
Also in that time we've won two national titles.
Since it's all about money, I wonder if our pull in the northeast would be attractive to the Big12 who's pretty much an after thought in the region.
With WVU and UConn I think Texas, OU and KU would put a dent into B1G and ACC territory.
Gun to my head? If they expand I think it is Cinci and BYU. I hate that is the case but our football can't even be described as below average. Unless the networks insist on northeast exposure, I don't think it looks good.
If in fact they do want that. I think we have a fighting shot.
