Since I was a kid I would just sing the beginning hum the middle and yell the end.

“UConn Husky… (hum this part)… Connecticut Husky, CONNECTICUT HUSKY (yell this part)…” [repeat]

I wasn’t in the band, a cheerleader, part of any spirit group or fraternity, etc. so I never had to memorize it. I was just a drunk kid attending games. I would yell “Connecticut UConn Huskies” and hum, laugh, chortle and scream nonsense for the rest.
Connecticut UConn Huskies,
Chortle chortle scream nonsense
Chortle chortle Connecticut
Laugh scream, let’s go!

That was the line that always threw me. Makes no sense.

previous line: Let's go ...
next line: ... Connecticut
new sentence: UConn Husky ...

I grew up in New York State - upstate. My Dad had gone to UCONN; and we often were in Connecticut visiting relatives.

If you didn't grow up saying UCONN ... it felt a little foreign the first year on campus. Now, I often heard my Dad say it. And I wore a UCONN sweatshirt often my senior year in HS. But that UCONN word felt funny. Hard to think ... and proceed speaking. Not natural.

It takes awhile to seep into your soul; head; heart. And then you can't get rid of it.

And I feel like a rendition of the fight song is long overdue in this thread. So for your listening pleasure…

For what it’s worth this is more or less the way I remember it.
