Did anyone just watch that catch and run by Diggs. Deon Sanders look alike. Unbelievable talent. Sports Center material.

This kid is like no other.

He originally committed to Florida, if I am correct. He switched to UMD in the last moments. We'll just call it Locksley/Under Armour magic. Yes, the kid is a freak of nature.

Remember, we can never give Edsall any credit. We can only criticize for his lack of recruiting skills.

Locksley is somewhat legendary for his recruiting skills.

It was Locksley. But the kid is really different in terms of talent. He's like 5+ stars.

If this was the kid I am thinking of, his parents wanted him closer to home. It had nothing to do with recruiting skills.

Yes, his mother wanted him at Maryland. It does not matter why he is there or how he is there. He is there and is really good. There are a lot of ways to win games. As long as you win them without breaking too many maor rules - worrying about who gets credit for a recruitment is nonsense. They all win and lose together. Would anyone have given a damn if Aaron Hernandez only went to UConn because his father wanted him to?

No - but we can give Randy for not screwing him up yet...

One topic we haven't seen much on around here is the fact that O'Brien already got benched at Wisconsin - so maybe everything wrong with him isn't Edsall's fault. UConn has a mess on their hands - not sure why anyone would be worried about anything Edsall is doing at Maryland.

I almost got my head taken off here for saying that O'Brien was a locker room problem at Maryland.

He acted like a child last year. It certainly seemed like Edsall was in the wrong last year and was burning the place to the ground - but Maryland is improving and O'Brien played himself off the field almost immediately.

Edsall definitely does have Maryland back on the road to unfulfilling mediocrity.

Indeed it's 8 and 9 win seasons with not much ceiling. I'm pretty sure 8-9 wins >5.

For sure. But with Edsall, he wants fireworks, a parade and an extension every time he wins 7.

Which really doesn't make him any different than 90% of college coaches.
