Sad news. He just came up in conversation the other day, I'll always remember that '98 team with Andre Miller.

I haven't seen it yet - was prying for some conference news and was told about Majerus passing.

Amazing coach and character. Doug Gottlieb (twitter.com/gottliebshow) is tweeting out some great Majerus stories from his time working with him at ESPN.

He was definitely one of the characters of the game and a hell of a coach. He took awful care of himself but he sure seemed like a guy who had fun while he was here. Funny story, he gave Doc Rivers the name "Doc." Rivers was at his basketball camp as a teenager and he was wearing a Dr. J t-shirt, Majerus called him Doc for the rest of the camp and the nickname stuck.

Majerus is probably why Utah is in the Pac-12. Does Meyer take the job without Majerus doing what he did first? Meanwhile, we have Coach P.

ESPN has it so does MSN. The guy used to brag about never going on a diet. Sorry to hear it, he was entertaining as hell.

Sad news, something I wouldn't wish on anyone.

I'd like to say he was a good guy but I heard far too many things to make that statement. That aside, may he rest in peace.

Always loved watching his teams play and hearing his soundbites. Great basketball mind and from what I've always read a better father.

RIP

Still one of the funniest lines on TV I've ever seen. Gonna miss the guy. RIP.

I was hoping someone would post this - it's so funny that they had to cut the camera cause what's his name started laughing.

Rip, coach. It's shocking news, although given his health history, not entirely surprising.

Not that I am trying to be disrespectful to Majerus, but did you get any conference news?!

Thx for remembering Majerus. Great thread. The last interview/Press confernece with Majerus. Some pretty moving parts to the conference.

Minute 1:25 and minute 6:30 are pretty special if it hasn't been posted yet.
