UConn leading 2-1 in bottom of 5th inning. Played one inning, then Rain/Lightning delayed game until just after 5pm. Tabakman started, came out in top of 4th with an injury to possibly his right wrist or hand. Butler came in and finished the inning. I don't know how many innings constitute an official game in college, but with sunset today at 7:15 and playing at a field with no lights, I can't imagine this game going much longer.

Chris Jones earlier in the WHUS broadcast said that Colletti will start against Boston College tomorrow, and Nastasi will start against Yale on Wednesday.

Today started a streak of 25 games in 35 days for UConn, which averages out to 5 games a week. I would imagine we'll be seeing more appearances from the lesser used pitchers as a result of the increased frequency of games.

I guess Penders has just decided that Butler will solely be a relief pitcher this year. Thought he would get the start tomorrow. Anyone concerned that once again we are putting up no offense and if this game should end early they are one big hit away from having the lead.

It's a concern, but slumps have been known to happen. I firmly believe the bats will come back, hopefully soon. The good news is the pitching is keeping us in these games.

Quinnipiac single of the first base bag drives in a run in the top of the seventh, making it tied at two. UConn coming to bat in bottom of inning.

If it's getting dark I imagine this could be last at bat. A tie would be as bad as a loss I believe. Would not be good.

Big game for the Freshman, 3 hits on the day. Now we are going to need the young pitchers to come through the next couple of days.

Game Notes:
- The Huskies now own a 10-5 all-time record against the Bobcats.
- Jordan Tabakman entered the contest with one wild pitch in 19 IP this season, but allowed two in his 4.1 innings of work today. Both came in the third inning.
- Billy Ferriter swiped his team-leading 15th base of the season in the third. (15-21)
- Tom Verdi now has (15) HBP on the season after having 12 all of last season
- The Huskies are 10-0 this season when holding their opponents to 2 or fewer.
- The Huskies have not lost a home opener since the 2009 season when West Virginia claimed a 7-6 victory…in 2011, UConn tied Holy Cross 2-2 in 16 innings.
- Pat Butler recorded his 10th career victory which ties him for most on the Husky squad with Brian Ward.
