UC Davis Aggies. Like to shoot 3’s. Avg about 27 a game. Make almost 10 a game. Fipps and Harris are the big threats but at least 4 others will take 2-3 a game. Not much height, one player at 6-3 and one at 6-2, the rest at 5-10 to 6-0. So not “small” though.
The Aggies turn the ball over…a lot. UCONN should be able to get some fast break points this way. Along with longer rebounds on the 3 pt shots. But they did slow Stanford down and held them to 66 points. They don’t necessarily score a lot, so it looks like they like to run some offense before they jack up a 3. Their defense seems to be decent also. Held Stanford to 38% shooting. Probably a scrappy team.
Let’s hope UCONN comes out a little more focused Thursday. The turkey hangover will have worn off by now. Last game before the Semester Finals break. UCONN should be able to work the ball inside. Defensively, just close down their outside shooters. If the Aggies don’t shoot well, UCONN will win big. If they do shoot well, UCONN will still win big, just not as big.
UCONN 83-45.
