Passing and taking care of the ball... this season's 1.88 A:TO rate

On the year, we had 630 assists and 335 turnovers, for an incredible 1.88 A:TO rate. That's 18.5 assists and 9.9 turnovers per game. We bested last year's record of 570 assists (averaging 17.3 assists and 12.9 turnovers per game for a 1.34 A:TO rate).

• Tristen had 6.2apg and 2.5 to (2.5 a:to rate)
• Cam had 3.6apg and 1.0 to (3.6)
• Steph had 2.9apg and 1.5 to (1.9)
• Hass had 2.4apg and 1.1 to (2.2)
• Even Donovan and AK both averaged 1.5apg and 0.8 to (1.9)

It's incredible how well this team took care of the ball this season. We were an elite passing team, and we rarely turned the ball over. I loved how we sliced up the Purdue press with ease at the end of the championship game and didn't allow 'Bama a single fast-break bucket. Gotta give a ton of credit to TNew, along with the rest of our guards.

During the tournament:

1. vs Stetson: 22 assists, 9 turnovers
2. vs Northwestern: 20 assists, 7 turnovers
3. vs SDSU: 17 assists, 11 turnovers
4. vs Illinois: 21 assists, 9 turnovers
5. vs Alabama: 20 assists, 4 turnovers (this is crazy)
6. vs Purdue: 18 assists, 8 turnovers

Looking back at previous UConn championship teams:

• 23-24: 18.5 assists, 9.9 turnovers, 1.88
• 22-23: 17.3 assists, 12.9 turnovers, 1.34
• 13-14: 12.6 assists, 11.7 turnovers, 1.08
• 10-11: 13.1 assists, 11.7 turnovers, 1.12
• 03-04: 18.2 assists, 13.8 turnovers, 1.32
• 98-99: 15.3 assists, 14.5 turnovers, 1.06

Nothing we didn't already know but wow did this make for incredibly beautiful basketball.
