19. He Got Game.
20. Some time around the Alamo and Battle of San Jacinto prolly. 1830's. So 1835. Give or take 5.
21. Don't think The Long Run and Hotel California were on the 1st Greatest Hits. It was about the early 70's. They came later. Think Heartache Tonight was on the Long Run album too, so not that one either.
25. Eroica was a Beethoven single I think. Not sure of the B side.

14. To expand on zorro's entry, the Okapi is an African animal of the deep forest, partially striped like a zebra, but, actually related to the giraffe, I believe. Looks more like a funky antelope with racing stripes than either a member of the horse family or a giraffe (to me, anyway). Wasn't discovered by Western science until fairly recently, within the last 100 years or so.

14. Cute. We discovered them for the first time at a couple of recent zoo visits. Partly zebra striped, kind of Giraffe looking head and brownish. My wife - who loves Giraffes - nominated them to her second favorite category.
20. Early 1830's.

18. Not to be overly pedantic but Sen. Grassey is not in the news. Sen. Grassley is.

14..We'll give the thoroughness award to our own Dr. Doolittle (pinot) for his description, and we approve of Mrs. Knight's affection.

15..VAUC & hoop are up on the '40's story.

16..Hoop again with the exploits of Josephine's hubby.

17..I ask JR if he read the question, for I would have expected him to know that the Scarlet Pimpernel is not a Sherlock story. A poster was to take my colorful hint and come up with A Study in Scarlet. Oh well.

18..Did you notice that ballwalk reminds me that, If you want to get to heaven, you've got to raise a little 'l. And I didn't.

19..The K9 Quartet with "He Got Game".

20..The ed4 Quartet focus on 1836. Amazing # of you must hail from the Lone Star, for why else hold on to such useless knowledge.

21..Meyers & K9 soar like eagles.

22..JR & Ine with the thundering, terrible lizard.

23..Hoop's got the Woodrow edict.

24..Pinot needs to take down the screen and replace it with a Stage.

25..Funny that I had to cobble together the complete ID from 4 of your segments.
Beethoven's 3rd Symphony & 5th Piano Concerto.

Enough, time to turn our attention to the semifinals.
