How much did he get?
Beat me to it. I hate to suggest teams are cheating (so many said it and say it about us), but there's something strange there...especially with the Kasongo thing...

I thought he would be in Memphis. Oh well, would have been nice for the AAC to pull in another top talent.

Yawn.

If the rumors about academic problems are true, neither him nor Kasango will ever see the floor in Eugene.

Oregon will take anyone, fielding a team with all of the academic non qualifiers will be the difficult part.

So they got a sexual assault suspect (Austin)
A probable non qualifier (Lyle)
And a kid who really didn't want to go there but was forced to (Kasongo)

That's going to be a good team to root against.

Oregon has maybe taken over as the shadiest athletic department in the nation.

When you have Nike's, well Phil Knight's, full support there are bound to be shady things going on.

That's a large call when you take into account all those southern football-centric Athl Depts. I'd put money on Auburn being worse.

I think Oregon is an appealing destination. They have the best facilities in sports and that is pretty damn important to a 17 year old. This Lyle situation doesn't seem shady; it seems like a school taking a chance on a kid who may or may not qualify. Its not like he chose Oregon over amazing options - most schools had backed off because of his grades/attitude. Same as Austin. Plenty of schools take chances on high risk players, especially those that aren't likely the 1st option for most kids. Who knows though, Kasongo situation was bizarre as hell.

None of you know him and why he chose Oregon. Why speculate and trash an 18 year old kid based on rumors? Give it a break.
