1. Labor leader, civil rights leader, and the person who originally called for and was going to lead the 1963 March on Washington, a march that was first proposed at least 20 years prior. What we now know historically is a watered down version of what was originally planned. So watered down that Malcolm X liked to refer to it as the Farce on Washington.
3. Oklahoma
5. McKinley
5. Grover Cleveland
9. Max Yazger's farm for Woodstock
10. Meerkat
13. She rode her bicycle at night, roller skated during the day. Of the two, I will go with roller skates because she got a brand new pair and was hoping to hook up with the guy with the brand new key.

1..Rbny covers the most territory and in a succinct way. VAUC renders a non-official aspect in addition.

2..The Flash posts on high too.

3..The Act send a multitude out west where farmers and ranchers dug up the prairie grasslands that anchored the soil. In time a good wind picked up the naked soil...and there went the Joads.

4.."First bird", you doofusses. Knight & K9 have the title.

5..The JC Foursome recall McKinley.

6..1929...and who could fault Waq for being so sure he posted it twice.

7..Now don't get the idea that because K9 knows these 2 ladies that she is envious that they are presidents of whole countries,
but she only heads the local ASPCA.

8..Wally learned his lesson after visiting and cheerfully accepting just 3 rands for his buck.

9..Woodstock was the intent, but we all wound up at Bethel on Max Yasgur's land. Good fella, Max. Knight, Drive & VAUC.

10.. Meerkats, which Wally & VAUC gave up for Lent.

11..Tender, as in Tender Is the Night. Sheesh, I wasn't THAT obscure, you blockheads.

12..She was associated with a slavery ring.

13..VAUC seems to know the lass' thinking. Gus, JC & K9 also provide roller skates. (It's a wonder
that the moderators let this through, whew.)

Only 9 1/2 here. What gives?

3..Link the 1863 Homestead Act to the 1930's Dust Bowl The people who received free land from the homestead act plowed land without planting, leaving the soil exposed.
4.."Blackbird has spoken like the..the first bird" From Morning has Broken by Cat Stevens
8..One dollar =12 rand in what nation - South Africa
9..Yasger's Farm (spelling is a guess, but I can spell his first name: Max) Now that I think of it, it's referred to as Yasgur's farm in songs, but it may have had some other formal name. That said, I'm sticking with Yasger's Farm or Yasgur's. Not Yasgar's, Yasgir's Yasgor's or sometimes Yasgyr's.
13..Roller Skates

FairView, no doubt delayed by an extended case of the runs, types simultaneously with me and manages to fill in the missing 3 & 4,
as well as other neat stuff.
