Meghan Khan is an 18 year old amateur from Ma....she just won the Ct. Open at Avon Golf Club with rounds of 65-64....tourney is 36 holes. She is ranked #3 junior in the land and has passed the first stage of LPGA'S qualifying...2 more stages to go this fall. She says that she won't accept a college offer at this point because she wouldn't be attending school this fall. I'm guessing if she fails to qualify for the big tour or the Symetra tour she might go to college for the second semester and play for the school come spring 2016. Tons of offers would be hers, I assume.
BTW: under the radar with the PGA championship being held this past weekend...17 year old Canadian Brooke Henderson won the weekly LPGA event by 8 shots...earning her full card for next year. She challenged on Sunday several times in past months...this time she closed the deal...seems to be the real thing.
3rd player ever to win an event before turning 18...Lydia Ko...Lexi Thompson the others.
LPGA tour has great depth...maybe in part due to Title 9.
