I looked in vain for any real description of the "injury" that produced the surgery. The best of the sorry lot: " Ogwumike, 22, the top overall pick in the 2014 draft, had a small lesion in her articular cartilage. Microfracture involves the setting of a cartilage "matrix" from a donor (i.e., a cadaver) into the lesion, to promote the growth of new cartilage that more closely approximates the natural material (hyaline cartilage). A gluelike manmade protein is then applied to seal it."

Says nothing. The articular cartilage of the right knee covers a lot of ground. To the "small lesion" part of it I say Horse Puckies. As we know from Morgan's experience, this is a procedure on the cutting edge and success is not assured. I wish her the best in the surgery and recovery.
