Can't question the heart of Okumbowale...she wants the ball at crunch time, she wants to take the shot and she is the ice queen...with two game winners in two nights. Right after she wins the national championship...she gets interviewed and puts a plug in for ND recruiting...telling recruits if they are undecided come to ND because this is what we do...win championships. Too bad, this is the first championship in 17 years. Ah, but, you can't take it away from her...she won ND a championship and she was the Final Four most outstanding player. Much as it pains me...Congrats to Ogumbowale, Congrats to ND.

Yes, Arike and ND deserve congratulations. Their fighting spirit was built through the season. They did have the big beat down from Louisville. They came back and prevailed.

We have had tough players at UConn too. Players like Diana and Maya stepped up to take games over. Maybe one of more of our seniors will become such players next year to see our team through adversity.

Yeah but when was the last time a UConn player hit two buzzer beaters in the final four to win the whole thing? Ogunbowale has cemented her place in WCBB history.

UConn normally have big leads, no need for buzzer beaters... until these last 2

Maybe if didn't shoot 5 for 20 before that shot, they wouldn't have needed a last second basket. Ogumbawale is a very streaky shooter, who usually doesn't start making baskets until the second half. Being a team player is not her strongest suit.

But but but she only shot 6 for 21 in the game! Arike says: "you UConn fans have fun looking over the stats trying to figure out if I'm over or under rated, I'll just be over here with our national championship trophy while you sat home for the second season in a row."

Itti bitty had a couple of really good games last year in the tournament. She has never repeated that sort of effort since. Sometimes a player just gets hot at the right time. What are the odds that this happens for Arike again? Two games in three days are close enough to ride the same streak.

I recall Coach Vic keeping her on the bench... like Geno did Z Friday night

Maybe the lack of options forced Muffet to leave Ogunbowale out there even if she shot 6 for 31, where for Geno, Z was simply a luxury.

Ogunbowale can manufacture offense. In a defensive game she is pure gold.
