She is further expanding her game at the end of her college career. She knows she may need it in the tourney. And she'll need it at the next level. She is simply a great, great shooter. From anywhere.

Actually kind of the opposite... Kaleena is more of "specialist" this year then she has been in any previous year. She is attempting and making 3 pointers at a higher rate in her senior year that any other year she has played at UConn.

Percentage of field goal attempts that are 3 pointers:
freshman: 51%
sophomore: 52%
junior: 54%
senior: 63%

Percentage of made field goals that are 3 pointers:
freshman: 46%
sophomore: 49%
junior: 47%
senior: 59%

Is that a picture of the play early in the game where she was called for an offensive foul? She had driven along the left baseline for a stop-and-pop, which she made, as the Rutgers player hit her in the side. It is beyond me how that could have been called an offensive foul. It could have been a no-call or a block, but not a charge.

I thought the offensive foul call on Stewie just before that was questionable but at least arguable, while the foul on KML (even on replay) seemed impossible to rationalize.

Not only she's the best shooter of the game, she's the most accurate passer of the game.
I can't say that because there are many, many players in the women's game that you aren't exposed to. To suggest that is a little over the top. Beyond that, it would suggest that her assist total should be through the roof and it really isn't. It's nice to want to heap praise on her and heaven knows, she deserves a massive amount but though she is a well rounded player (much more than anyone might have guessed she would be in her early days with the Huskies) she may not even be the best passer on this team. I think Moriah is pretty impressive, isn't she??? KML will be talked about fondly long after she moves on to the WNBA for her talent and her grace, among other things! I don't think her passing skills will be much of a topic of conversation down the road.

If you're down low and call for the ball, and the pass is coming from KML that ball will come in such an angle that there's no chance for the defender to guard you never mind a turn over, and now all you have to do is score. I have seen others tried to jam the ball in there and half the times ended up a turn over. It's KML and her keen eye of a sharp shooter that knows 3 dimensional angles like the back of her hand.

KML is not a PG, you are comparing apples and oranges, of course the end of the day the PG is likely to have more assists than a SF. It's not the quantity I'm saying but it's the quality of the pass.

Oh! BTW, Mojeff is the the best PG in the country.

I think she is an awesome passer, and facilitates offensive flow like Stef and Kelly Farris. She is constantly motioning to others what to do on the floor. And she's the best screener on the team- geno's words re the screening, not just mine!

Nice stats. I think that she's been more versatile of late and in the big games, but I didn't check the numbers.
