Maybe the first time this year that the home team wins in the Rent.

I'm hoping the pitch looks good. It looked good for the last football game.

Bad look for UConn football and athletic program looking for a P4 invite.

CT residents and NE residents will come out to support an exhibition soccer match but won't do the same for State U seven Saturdays in the fall.

Demonstrates there's a population interested in sports they have money in their pockets. Just not for UConn football.

Stop.

First off nobody will even realize this game is happening. It’s a friendly which is like a pretend game.

Secondly they only play here once in a blue moon and the USMNT is actually kind of successful and has some star power. So there is some pent up demand. It’s also kind of sexy opponent it’s not like they are playing Belarus.

Please stop. The number of folks in the northeast who will come out for a once in however many years opportunity to watch the USMNT play a European powerhouse in person is so unbelievably irrelevant to our attendance for a football team that has been lousy for what seems like forever in a market where people can easily drive to NFL games that one can't possibly be stupid enough to think it is.

So since it's not possible one could be that stupid, what's your real point? How about you just make it without insulting everyone's intelligence?

Thank you both for unintentionally (on your part) of demonstrating my point.

People are showing up to a meaningless pretend game and not showing up based on supporting the "home" team but rather the opponent.

Because, well, scarcity.

This soccer game does not make your butt look fat. Sorry. You have a very bad take.

The other thing is. This game would probably sell out wherever it was played.

And tons of people in attendance won’t even be from CT.

And there really is not much overlap in UConn football fans and USMNT fans.

I'll bet the majority are from out of state all around the Northeast. Prime opportunity for Oktoberfest brews and bratwurst.

Most states don't support terrible programs, there's really nothing unique about CT in that way.

It's beyond stupid. It would be like questioning whether USC should be in the P-2 based on Taylor Swift selling more tickets for the Rose Bowl than a USC team in a bad year.
