In a shocking development less than 48 hours before the 2021 Final Four, the NCAA announced that it was vacated UConn from ten of its eleven national titles and it has further prohibited UConn from participating any longer in this year’s tournament. In its place, Baylor that was so blatantly robbed of a victory on Monday night by the blind referees in their failure to call an obvious foul with two seconds left in the game will play the upstart University of Arizona squad.

The NCAA has for years believed that UConn was bad for basketball and has responded to legitimate pressure from its main financial supporter ESPN and in particular basketball gurus Debbie Antonelli, Carolyn Peck, and Mechele Voepel, aided by token male Charlie Creme.

A number of specific charges against the University of Connecticut and Coach Geno Auriemma prompted this unprecedented measure.

First of all, Title 9 was supposed to promote female basketball equity and UConn has made a mockery of the dictates of equity and equality by winning the title 11 times in the past 26 years and going to 13 straight Final Fours. The NCAA generously allowed UConn to keep its first title in 1995 because it was not bad for basketball at that time. The other 10 banners will be publicly burned outside the San Antonio venue at 3:00 PM tomorrow afternoon. No determination has yet been made about the disposition of banners honoring All-Americans.

Second, Coach Auriemma has a 36-year habit of yelling at and humiliating fragile young females. The most recent example was his reducing Nika Muhl to tears earlier in the season. NCAA spokesperson Nigel Truebody told reporters that this was the straw the broke the camel’s back. “In 2021 we cannot allow a white macho Italian male to degrade an innocent and vulnerable immigrant.” Compounding this unjustifiable behavior, he regularly humiliated his players by publicly removing them from games after their mistakes.

Third, UConn has repeatedly and openly defied the Sherman Antitrust Act by monopolizing the number of top #1 recruits it has received over the years. Speaking on background, a high NCAA official opined that the organization has for years been concerned about the unfair trade practices pursued by Coach Auriemma and his staff. The signings of Paige Bueckers and Azzi Fudd have proven the case beyond a shadow of a doubt and UConn has been enjoined from visiting, calling, or zooming with any recruit from outside New England for the next two years.

The University has confessed its guilt, has accepted the actions of the NCAA, and has agreed to the following penalties. All current scholarship athletes will be given the opportunity to transfer and all who have expressed an intention to attend UConn in the future will be released from their commitments. The university has also agreed to avoid signing any players for the next ten years that might be talented enough to allow the team to win a Big East title. Lastly, Coach Auriemma who has confessed his guilt will immediately resign and seek absolution by making a walking pilgrimage to Rome and as penance will give up consuming Taurasi Wine wine for five years.

According to spokesman Nigel Truebody, “we in the NCAA have always had the best interests of our female athletes at heart and believe that the steps we have taken today will restore integrity to women’s basketball.”

Hmm, was Sidd Finch involved in this decision?
