Andrew Jean-Baptiste goes 8th overall to Portland. He's going to be playing in a hell of an atmosphere, and a hell of a derby.

Portland already had the best MLS game atmosphere and their retrofitted baseball stadium will only enhance it now. Is the derby comment a reference to a league rivalry with Seattle or Vancouver?

Yea, the Portland/Seattle rivalry (derby) has been around even before both were in the MLS, now they both are, I think it will only grow more.

When even NY cannot get a 2nd team (and LA doesn't #$@*)@ count), I was trying to figure out how Portland could get a 2nd franchise to create a derby. Thanks for confirming it was a reference to the Portland - Seattle rivalry.

    Yes, Portland-Seattle.

And I'm still taking Seattle as the best atmosphere in MLS.

If that's a typical Seattle game, it appears a bit too orchestrated. Do they hand out Dukie cheer cards? Has Toronto's support died out? A few years back, they were quite impressive.
