ATL v Timbers

Who ya got?

Pretty insane goal from Blanco for Portland last night

Someone on Twitter questioned which American is even capable of something like this? Fair point. Invokes memories of Jermaine Jones v Portugal. Even better, Blanco has 2 caps for Argentina, both silly season games.

ANYWAY, I have Tata's guys locking down Portland for a 2-0 win in front of 70k fans

I will pull for Portland but I think Atlanta will win.

You who didn’t make it to MLS Cup? An American born manager.

I'll be pulling for Atlanta. Lived down there for awhile when I was young. Always liked it there.

Interesting (to me anyway) a couple years ago drove through Atlanta on my way back from a FL trip. Stopped by my old house to show my wife where I had lived. Went by the old NE Athletic Association fields where we had 2-3 Gridiron fields and 8-9 baseball diamonds growing up. It had all been changed over to soccer fields. :D

Gio will come up with something to make the game interesting. He has impressed with his flexibility both in formations and personnel, and put the timbers in a position to win in the hostile environs of Seattle and kc - it should be a great match.
