Has apparently retained counsel to pursue a waiver to play one more year. I haven't looked at this all that closely but my understanding is that his situation is comparable to Spencer's. Will be interesting to see what happens if he's successful.

From what I read in the twitter thread, the fact that Cam played his games in his conference tournament suggests that he will not be able to retain that eligibility, apparently that is a stipulation.

Similar situation, however his injury was season ending and Cam Spencer's was early season and he played at the end of the year. The NCAA seems to have no logic but if they're ignoring half the requirements for Domask maybe they'd ignore the other half for Spencer

why does season ending v season starting matter....shouldn't it be number of games played?

I wonder what the time frame is for a decision. I’d think that both sides would want certainty and a decision sooner rather than later.

i dont think OP is saying we're in play for a domask transfer, he's already transferred.

according to espn this was domask's 5th season. he played the following #of games by season:
2019- 32
2020- 10
2021- 31
2022- 33
2023- 38

now compare this to cam:
2019- 23
2020- 5
2021- 30
2022- 34
2023- 38

so even tho domask played 2x as many games as cam his soph year, the requirement that a redhisrt be granted due to a "season ending injury" controls. domask played his games in december and january while cam came back from injury and played all five of his games in march. therefore, it wasn't a "season ending injury" like domask's was. idk why "season ending injury" is even a requirement, but it is. fullly expect domask to get his waiver. sucks cam played those 5 games...

I think he’s indicating hope for retaining Spencer another year, not getting Domask to transfer to UConn.

with the way Cam has played this year and the recognition he's received from the online scouting community he should be ready to try to go pro at this point. His brother just worked his way into a 2 way after not even playing organized ball for 4 years, he has an edge over Cam in athleticism but I could see Cam being in a similar spot next year in the league.

I suppose there's an argument for that. Season ending isn't the only way to have an injury affect your season

I thought the issue for Cam was that his redshirt year also coincided with the COVID year, so he can't "double count" those.

This case could set a precedent since it’s in court.
i dont think so. you have to "exhaust administrative remedies" before you can file a lawsuit in civil court. he's retained legal counsel to help him apply for the waiver with the ncaa. if it's denied then he can go to court.

We shall see. Just saying it’s a possibility and that that seems to be what some are hoping for.

Domask will win, it won’t help Cam though. Domask plays for the football darling B10. Cam plays for the hated Huskies of the renegade Big East. Any way they can find to squash the northeast Italians , they will.

Cam returning would be arguably bigger than Newton returning last season. He'd be in for a first team AA season, and the continuity could be massive if we decide to go younger.
