When Kaleena arrived, I thought that she would finish her career as either #2 or #3 in UConn career scoring. Here are the leaders:

1. Maya 3,036
2. Tina 2,346
3. Nykesha 2,178
4. Kerry 2,177
5. Diana 2,156
6. Kara 2,141
7. Rebecca 2,133

Kaleena came into the season with 1,613. She now stands at 1,877, I believe. She has up to 20 games remaining. K averaged 15.5 ppg over her first 3 years and is averaging 14.7 this year. Where will she finish? She projects to have roughly 300 more points. That would tie her at #4. She definitely could finish at #3. She could also finish at #8, given that there is only a 45-point difference between Rebecca and Nykesha.

If K had not missed 12 games last year, she'd finish just about even with Tina.

Where do you folks think K will finish? Keep in mind that she's 16-1 in the NCAA tourney, with all 17 games in double digits.

If you were to think of the season as half over and just double the 264 points she scored so far this season and added it to the 1,877 she currently has... she would end up exactly where Kara Wolters was with 2,141. But that is assuming she averages 14.7 points a game for the remainder of the season. I hope she will pick it up a little more as in the last five games she is averaging 17 points a game. So if she scores 17 per game for 21 remaining games... that would be 399 so she would end at 2,276. Which is a respectable place. She would be in third place until Stewart goes ahead of her next season. She would after next season be in fourth place and probably stay there for a little while. (Curious how KLS will do)....

But if she had not missed those 12 games last year (and keeping in mind that her scoring was down because she left that Stanford game early not scoring much, and there were a couple games when she came back she was not able to play much/ her arm was bothering her.... but still, 12 x 15.5 is 186. Her first two seasons she was averaging 16.3 points per game... which would have been 195.6

So personally I think she would have ended up in second place ahead of Tina. I think she will end up in 3rd place behind Tina now.

Of course with KML missing those 12 games last year, Stewart had to pick up the slack when it came to scoring which increase her scoring. Had KML not been injured I am curious where those two players would end up on the all time list. But then again, where would Nykesha have been had she not been injured... or if Geno did not pull DT out when there was still 20 minutes left in the game... It is all interesting...

She's put up great numbers in the tourneys, so I think she'll get ahead of Sales on her way out.
I'd like to see her get the Final Four MOP award.

She will finish very high on the NCAA tourney career scoring list. Can someone link to or look up the records?

Given the weakness of our league, Geno may not give her the minutes to reach the stated potential.

Exactly. Limited minutes could also affect post-season awards for several of the starters.

I think come March, if not mid-February that Geno would start to increase their minutes back up... even in blow outs... get them in for 20-25 minutes as he knows he will need them come late in the Tournament.
