Boeheim will probably say, "It's James' issue. He has it under control, so he can play."

I guess we need to keep a close eye on the start date of the 2nd semester for Syracuse moving forward. For some reason, we always seem to get interesting news on that date.

This school is treading thinly around the APR. They are right at the cusp, and depending on how Southerland gets counted, they may get dinged.

Syracuse is around 930, the cut off the last few years up until 2010-2011. If last year's Fab Melo hiccup lands them below 930 coupled with this year's Southerland problem, there is no way for them to land above the cut off for postseason banning. The 2011-2012 numbers aren't in yet.

I have a strange feeling that if Syracuse is held out of the tournament because of their APR, everyones attitude toward the APR will change and that will be the end of post season bans because of it.

No the NCAA will change the rule again and go backwards with no penalty to Cuse

You forget...the NCAA president does not have a vendetta against the 'Cuse...zero chance they get suspended

It's automatic now. It just depends on what Cuse reports. They just lost a point for his not finishing the semester. And another point for his return. If he gets his act together in the spring, that means they only lost 2 points and will manage to skate by. Don't forget they lost at least 3 points from Melo last year.
