MOCS Game Day: http://www.gomocs.com/news/2015/11/29/WBB_1129152151.aspx

Team Roster: http://www.gomocs.com/roster.aspx?path=wbb&roster=290&

Since I like creating polls, almost decided to create one asking will UConn win the Game by more then 2 points? The was the margin of defeat for the Mocs against the Lady Vols on the Vols home court. Then decided I knew what the answer would be. :)

Not one to count my chickens before they hatch, I'm expecting the MOCS to play UConn hard and won't be quitting like so many teams do. In the end it won't be enough.

Thanks for this!!
Since this is a TENNESSEE Team Uconn will be extremely lucky to win by more than 10 , while using the end of the bench.
It is not fair of me to knock the MOC's (they are dangerous) . I think we owe then at least a THAnK YOU for agreeing to play Uconn with it's over load of talent. I hope they give Uconn (us) a tough game. However, I watched Tenn and Tx and neither plays defense or offense with tenacity or precision like Uconn Women

Thanks for the info. I want, however, to touch on your comment that the Mocs "won't be quitting like so many teams do".

I think the teams who absolutely quit are few and far between. Fans who watched UCONN play KSU and Nebraska noted that those teams competed hard until the end. I watched the OSU game in it's entirety and could not tell if OSU quit, or if they were simply outmatched, and more importantly, exhausted. UCONN is so much fitter than other teams that when you get to late in the 3rd quarter and into the 4th, UCONN seems to get to every loose ball and generally blows games open, if they haven't already done so.

OSU came out in the 2nd half and played UCONN HARD. They lost the quarter only 24-21, but were totally gassed by the 4th Q as UCONN blew them out 26-11. We also blew them out in the 2nd Q 26-9 after playing a "tight" first 6 minutes or so.

I think (JMO) that it's a tiny bit unfair to throw the comment about other teams "quitting" when they play UCONN - it's hard to go 100%+ for 40 minutes vs. UCONN and we have a way of making other teams, even good ones, look really bad. Doesn't mean they quit, just that we are that much better, fitter, and more cohesive. Just my $.02...

Eric --right again!!! When you knock the opposition (or your family) you diminish who you are and where you come from--in this case the talent, athleticism, dedication of Uconn Women!!
I too watched the 3 previous games--O S U played hard to the end. Their bench gave it all they had. Uconn is in great physical shape--that has been Geno's secret weapon, few realize that.

Just read Jim Fosters Bio--he is among the best at what he does. I ask: Why is a coach of his talents and record doing at a small college?? I dare to say that many of the top 25 colleges don't have a WBB coach with his record. 29-4 the last 2 years, wins over Stanford and Tenn--this isn't a push over team, it would appear!!

I do not believe UCONN opponents quit, I believe they cannot keep up the pace against a stifling defense. UCONN usually plays both ends of the court with equal passion, whereas opponents have either a reasonably good offense OR defense - but not both. It is demoralizing to have your own offense shut down, but for that same opponent to shoot the lights out can be demoralizing, resulting in teams feeling helpless - but the don't quit - they end up trying things to stop UCONN, things outside their comfort zone, and they self destruct.

Read his bio some more. At a B1G school, never getting past the NCAA Sweet 16 in 10 years and then failing to make the tournament his last year may have had something to do with it.

Read the Final Four he made. Do you know how many of the 360 or so Div 1 wBB teams never make the 32 cutoff?? Many cheer loudlly when they have a 20 win season. Every one isn't a ND or Uconn--
Read his record with the MOC's ! They didn't do that well without him. He's not Geno--but no one is.

He made the FF once, more than twenty years ago. Maybe OSU thought they should be getting into ND, if not UConn-like levels (or at least similar results to what he was doing at Vandy). If so, kudos to the Buckeyes admin for not settling.

You can get the Moc's +40.5 points tonight. Should be a close game.:) I don't think Geno
will want to beat up his pal tonight, but he may not be able to stop it.

Foster's problem wasn't so much that he wasn't at a Notre Dame like level. His issue was complete collapse in the tournament. Totally inexplicable to anyone in WBB that I have ever spoken to. Whats the saying - folded like a cheap chair?

And in answer to whoever was commenting that the Mocs didn't do so well before him - that's not entirely true. They were a mid-major powerhouse, actually, winning their conference almost every year. Although not so young, their long-time head coach, Wes Moore, moved on to coach NC State, his alma mater. Foster has done "better" the last few years, I guess, but at the level of "mid-major" they were not chopped liver.

Jim Foster ceases to be Geno's "pal" about the time someone sings ". . .and the home of the brave."
My bet is that's not quite true. Suspect Geno would grow to great lengths not to hang 100 on his mentor tonight. UCONN will compete hard, but he'll let off the gas if it really gets out of hand. Geno doing Jim a favor by playing them home/home while he's trying to get the program going under his regime. Good old boys from Philly.

Some of the MOCs players were exhausted before half-time; the little blond girls with glasses looked like she could barely get words out in a conference with the coach before half-time.

I've mentioned before that its not only on D, but when you're being guarded so relentlessly, its as draining as having to run after our woman on D, perhaps more-so.

So by the second half, Foster's team had been completely worn down and their lovely offensive sets seen at the outset of the game were no more.

It was a little unfair that our next year's team, then took over, continued the lock-down D and scored reasonably as well.
