also check out a fascinating op-ed link on same page "the ncaa's women's problem" which explores ncaa's male bias and disdain for Title IX.

"Each game a team plays (not including the championship) earns the team’s conference roughly $260,000 this year plus $260,000 each of the five following years. So the total value of a victory in the men’s tournament is approximately $1.56 million. By contrast, a win in the women’s tournament brings a reward of exactly zero dollars. That’s right, zero dollars."

If the Men's game had players staying for 3-4 years, they would not get the top HS players every year because those top players would not want to sit on the bench. So, they would go to other schools leading to more parity. The Men's game does not have parity. Every year, the top schools are Duke,NC,Kansas and Kentucky.
