The Huskies upgraded -- for this season and also for the future. Kevin Ollie and his staff added two key pieces that will make UConn much stronger and deeper for 2015-16: combo guard Sterling Gibbs (Seton Hall) and power forward Shonn Miller (Cornell). The Huskies also added a guy who could replace Daniel Hamilton next season by getting talented and athletic wing Terry Larrier from VCU. This is a UConn that returns Hamilton, Amida Brimah and Rodney Purvis, and will also add talented freshman point guard Jalen Adams. Ollie & Co. needed quality depth -- and they may have added two starters for this season and one for 2016-17.

And the top 25 transfers:

2. Sterling Gibbs*, 6-foot-2, G, Senior, Seton Hall to UConn
The addition of Gibbs was huge for Kevin Ollie and the Huskies. He's a grad transfer who can play this season in Storrs, and he gives Ollie a guy who can both score (16.3 ppg last season) and distribute (3.8 apg).

6. Terry Larrier, 6-foot-8, SF, Freshman, VCU to UConn
The New York native was a highly rated recruit, but he didn't play a ton last season as a freshman under Shaka Smart. He left after the coaching change, and after sitting next season, will likely move into the small forward spot currently occupied by Daniel Hamilton.

9. Shonn Miller*, 6-foot-7, PF, Senior, Cornell to UConn
He also considered Michigan, Marquette, Cal and Illinois. Miller is exactly what Kevin Ollie needs: A power forward who can make mid-range shots. He averaged 16.8 points and 8.5 boards last season and will be eligible this season as a grad transfer.

The fact that he considers Sulaimon the #1 recruit instantly discredits the entire list.
you guys clearly haven't watched enough Duke ball because that kid was very effective in low minutes and a knockdown shooter

I mean those aren't bad numbers. The kid has potential, but i agree I don't think he should've been considered the #1 transfer

I'm not surprised Sulaimon was #1; he is a former 5 star McD's All-American immediately eligible who is transferring out from the best program in the modern era.

In my opinion, Nigel Williams-Goss and Sterling Gibbs are both bigger transfers.

Well, if you think 4 titles and 5 FFs are better than 5 titles and 12 FFs you are entitled to your wrong opinion.

Maybe he's doing the thing where we define the time period exactly to make UConn look the best? The problem with that is that "modern era" has an unambiguous meaning and Duke's record over that span is undeniably better.

I've always thought that the accepted definition of the term "modern era" was the 64+ team field tournaments we've had since 1985.

Exactly. That's what I'm sure the article meant it as, and I'm not sure of any other interpretation existing.

The "modern era" actually began when the Fab Five arrived and blissfully put an end to the ridiculous looking short shorts in college basketball.

But really their sophomore year, since Duke won their freshman year.

Even if we win it this season we`re still #2. They have had far more F4 appearances.

Yeah - but doesn't head to head matter? We've beaten them twice in the NCAA Tournament, and they've never beaten us except for the two times they beat us.
