I loved St John's Malik Sealy as a college player. So smooth and polished. I would watch him and wish that UConn could have a player like him.

Yup, it was the newest superjohn on campus.

The man is correct. That first game in Gampel, against St. John's, was January 27, 1990.

Same here. Walked from my dorm with a bunch of students and got there early so we could get great seats. Awesome freaking night.

I was there also, and 2 days after the opening I moved to California. Just gave up my seasons tickets 2 years ago when my family back in CT no longer wanted to attend the games
