Morgan Cheli missed her sixth straight game Wednesday but may be nearing a return.


The senior suited up Wednesday and took part in warmups but did not get into the game.

“Morgan is close,” Phillips said. “Maybe Friday, maybe next week. Again, you’ve got a McDonald’s All-American who is going to play at UConn and there is no sense of rushing her back. It was great having her out there with us at shootaround today. We’re a different team without her, but it’s also allowed us to grow in other ways with our guard play.”

Sluconn, Bjorn has not yet impressed me as a UConn level recruit. However, I may be missing something.

You know Geno loves his guards, and she’s cut from the same 3-level scoring cloth of Katie Lou, Caroline, Morgan Cheli (I’d even throw in Saylor). She’d fit in seamlessly, in my opinion.

I haven't seen much of her but she made the U16 US team and she's ranked top-10 so she's highly regarded.
