unless he can go to Timbuktu and play and earn a top 5 pick, more power to him. It would just seem logical to spend your 1 year of college learning under a great talent developmental coach and a storied program such as Uconn. Maybe it doesn't matter in this case, but that it the exception certainly not the rule. There is a reason Wisconsin doesn't have anyone in the NBA. Bo Ryan develops his players to play within his system… doesn't help the kid at the next level.

correction.. Michael Finley is no longer in the NBA and hasn't been in some time… 2010

Seriously no real info on the stone visit. Extremely quite. But at is this family's mo.
Link to tweet: https://twitter.com/miller_zack/status/528632093333811200

You never know, but he doesn't seem to be the go-to UW reporter, so not sure if he is reliable. Only has 632 followers (compared to Flood's 6,000+), and immediately covered himself with the next tweet:

Keep in mind, however, that recruits often say a lot of things and nothing is official until signing

only thing I found posted on Twitter from the Wisconsin rival staff writer

Sources close to the situation tell me there is "a great chance" Diamond Stone commits to the #Badgers

Thanks guys

for the millionth time… Regardless if Stone is from Wisconsin… who would prepare him better for the NBA… UCONN or Wisconsin??? I honestly can't name a single NBA player that went to college at Wisconsin.. Is Michael Finley still in the NBA?? That says something!

Michael Finely is 41.

And the all-world Jon Leuer. (Spelling and don't know if he's been on a roster since 2012)

As I remember - Wes Matthews from Bridgeport went to Wisconsin and on to the NBA

Sure did. His son chose Marquette though, don't know the background on that story. Must have been a burn for the Badgers

That one shocked me at the time. How sweet of a backcourt would Foster and Matthews made for UConn.

I'm not sure they could have been in the same backcourt - maybe one year? Foster was like 79 to 83 at UCLA and I think Wes was in the NBA by 80?

Those kind of guys never even thought of playing at UConn back then, sucked! We were really lucky to get Corny and Mike......

Wisconsin basketball players are like Mike Leach quarterbacks. They get recruited to fit and play in the system that the head coach implements and they star while in that system. Once they try to fit in another system, their lack of skill/ability/whatever you want to call it gets exposed quickly and they're quickly out of the pros.

Devin Harris is far and away the best Badger basketball player of the last decade, which isn't saying a whole lot.
