Remember the shot v Baylor? And we all thought, man oh man, how good can she become in the next 3+ years. We're getting our answer.

I've doubted Bria in the past at times. Big, big mistake.

A healthy Bria is going to impress us all. We still have a chance and it is because of Bria. Now we just need Stef, Kiah, and Brianna to do their parts.

The Connecticut News got it wrong. They reported that Bria has played 78 minutes in the last three games. She's played 79 minutes in the last two games. Maybe that should be 118 minutes. Don't remember how many she played against Stanford. She certainly has been a workhorse.

Part of the problem was that Bria was never a point guard. Now that she doesn't have to handle the ball as much she's playing with abandon. When everyone is healthy and playing their best, they could become one of the best women's basketball teams ever.

She is on a mission to prove all her detractors from last year wrong.

But, but, after the last game some people wanted to send her to Siberia. (I guess she needs to keep working on the arc of her shot.) :)

because she had a good game today does not change the fact that she had a bad shooting game against Maryland.

Her poor shooting doesn't invalidate all the other things she did during the Maryland game. Today, she was spectacular. One bad shooting game also doesn't invalidate the things she's done at UConn. Therefore she IS the bomb.

Too much focus on the individual. Each of our scorers dosen't shoot 25 points each night.
We win cause Geno molds a team, where we can count on a rotation of, say, 2 to have a hot hand on a given night. And the others to find that hand. Works out OK, no?

Totally agree. Anyone who watched the Maryland game could see that in spite of going 0-11 from beyond the arc, she was everywhere on defense, and helped run the offense really well. Winning a basketball game is NOT only about scoring a lot of points. If you don't play defense and do other things on offense, you won't stay on the court.

I was almost more impressed with her game vs. Maryland because 99% of the kids out there would have pouted, given up at times on defense, and not done nearly the things she did on the court. That's one thing that makes Geno a master is that he can recognize things like that. Bria was so involved with almost every play that I would go so far as to say she played terrific against Maryland...

she did the same thing last season but people were soooo frustrated because of her AA status and their desire for UConn to win the Championship. She took a beating last season and its carrying over to this season by some posters

And the season before, despite having an AA season, she was barely recognized for her great play. Bria Hartley is one of the most underrated Uconn players ever. People didn't think she should start at the beginning of that season.

I approve this message!

Everyone has bad shooting nights! Bria has been so ridiculously maligned at times and often just plain overlooked. Bria is so much more than whether she is knocking down 3's. she was a star for us in tournament last year, and her health and confidence was certainly back prior to the season. Anyone who watched her summer performances could see it. The control and poise even when she is pushing pace while attacking- it's so obvious. She may be the best player in college right now. Her pull up jumpers and unrelenting defensive pressure- and disruption of passing lanes. She will be a great pro. Her tenure at point guard will and has served her very well!!!
