This is kinda sorta related to realignment............The Big Ten reported on revenue and spending for the 2017-2018 school year. Rutgers and Maryland are at the bottom of the list in terms of revenue (they do not yet receive equal shares from the conference). This was the first school year in which Nebraska received an equal share of revenue from the conference and the Cornhuskers shot all the way up to #6 in the conference in terms of total revenue. As a private school, Northwestern does not publicly report these numbers, so they are not included in these rankings. Other interesting stats in the article include: number of sports teams sponsored per school, number of scholarship athletes per school, amount of money spent on athletic scholarships per school, and amount of money spent on coaches salaries per school.
