We have a good one near me. Live music 365 days a year, multiple band stages and every one is welcome.

You consider that a dive bar?

3 J's in Bolton. Place of my first beer in a bar. Maybe 1970 - I was 15. They didn't care, is it still open?
It is still going strong. I’m sure you can probably smoke inside and no one will blink if you don’t socially distance

Grew up in Meriden home of the dives!! Others in the area Sals, Raffalas and Polly’s in Middletown, Dudley’s and Corner Cafe in Wallingford, Quitos and Popular in Southington, Mayos in Middlebury, Federal and JPs before UConn games in Hartford....so many great ones back in the day. Now it’s hard for the dive to survive!

The Keg House in New Haven - SCSC hangout
Your shoes stuck to the floor because of the beer
Every night had a Wheel Hour (Thursday it was 2 hours) where someone spun the huge wheel where everything cost fifty cents or less (mid 1970s) and it changed every 15 minutes. Peiple would be walking around with 6 beers and assorted shots
Many a night I stumbled to my apartment............................

Loved Sligo when I lived in Somerville.
Staying with Boston - There are bars masquerading as dive bars like Beacon Hill Pub, then the real ones like Paddy's Lunch.

Back in the 90's there was a place called Eli's in Fairfield near Bridgeport. A total scalitohole, but I had a lot of fun there. Sea Grape in Fairfield was also so disgusting back in the 90's that I would have been shocked if it got mopped once a month, but brought in a lot of local hotties giving it way too high a female/male ratio to really qualify as a dive bar.

Tuxedo Junction was the strangest club I have ever been to. Every time I have been there was a blast, and also almost ended up with my crew in a brawl.

Saw @mauconnfan post in another thread about dive bars, which I love. So give me your favorites, doesn’t have to be in CT.

The Federal in Hartford (RIP) and Billy Marks in NYC top my list.
I was in the hamptons on Long Island several years ago. We were at a dive bar owned by a Mets fan. There was basically 7 of us in the bar including the owner, who was tending the bar. It was the same night that Santana threw the Mets first and only no hitter. It was cool that I just happened to be in this bar on that night. The owner poured everyone shots after the final out. I don’t remember the name of the bar but it was in walking distance from that Main Street there. Will always be a cool memory for me.
