In addition, Des wrote an article about the visits yesterday and he seemingly ignored Richardson while acknowledging everyone else as UConn recruits. If Richardson really is a commit then he would #12 sliding Chris Lee to #13 and Pettus-Dixon to #14. With all the support that he is giving UConn, I just hope that he doesn't get embarressed...

We didn't. Not surprising. A few teams that did were Stanford, Notre Dame, Ohio State, BC. We've always had trouble landing that caliber of recruited kid. Non-BCS/P5 status makes it much, much more difficult. I can't imagine the amount of negative recruiting that will have to be overcome.

At least now I understand the fascination with the staff's recruitment of TE's in this class. I thought it was overkill, only to find we lost Thompson (I admit hearing it this w/e, it was a surpirse to me as I missed or overlooked any news on this) and moved Boland (why did we rush him in last year and pass on Fuchs?) back to DE.

I would say maybe academic issues, but Diaco and staff seem to do much more in-depth analysis before offering a player.

I hear ya but it wasn't just Des, it's been all the beat guys and there wasn't the now seemingly traditional "@UConnFootball" hint ~ new commit coming tweet that I saw or a Coach Corley "Mush" welcoming tweet.

Well, like Medic said, the beat writers are saying he isn't committed and it is their job to write about UConn football. Rivals, ESPN, 24/7, and Scout don't have writers who write exclusively for UConn so they basically just go off of what they find on the internet and take these kids words to heart. For example, remember last year when HFD said on Twitter that Keith Benjamin was a UConn commit even he though he wasn't? Well I don't know about the others but I clearly remember Rivals putting him in their database as a UConn commit based simply on HFD's tweet.

He visited UConn on June 23rd and that appears to be the only visit he has taken. Since the staff supposedly hasn't accepted William Richardson's commitment, I'm skeptical that they would accept Mugala's if he decides to commit here. Remains to be seen though.
