After a ton of basketball last week, there is a noticeable lull to start this week off.

NC A&T put up a valiant effort.... and only trailed Mighty SC 18-15 with 8 minutes to go in the first half.

Cal Baptist only plays one game this week, Thursday Dec 2nd vs the Waves of Pepperdine. The game is at 2pm PST, on ESPN+. Go Lancers!!

Last time these two teams played my favorite player, #3 Ane Olaeta, made a half court shot, before the end of the first half, that made the ESPN SC Top 10 highlights.

@Plebe before we're bombarded with anti FloHoops and "how can I watch Friday night's game" threads, could you change the tv provider to SNY for our game at Seton Hall?

In Big South action... some Methodist on Methodist violence as the Terriers of Wofford defeat the Panthers of High Point 74-52. Sam Houston hits a shot at the buzzer to defeat Longwood 66-65.

Akila Smith had a triple double for Longwood the tricky way with 10 blocks, but just wasn’t enough for them.

Oregon St. lucky to escape w/ a 76-72 win over Pacific. Not pretty. Prior to this game Pacific had done absolutely nothing to indicate they would be any kind of a threat in Corvallis. They have a guard named Anaya James who lit the Beavs up for 31 (was averaging 13 ppg for the season).

Did you watch the game or just look at the box score? I'm curious to hear from someone who saw the game as to what was giving OSU trouble in this one.

OSU's win today vs Pacific was a loss. Like Stanford, OSU does not have a pure point guard. TvO can create her own shot, and penetrate the paint, but she is not yet proficient at running the offense from the point. Rueck played Greta Kampschroeder today at the point for some of the game today. I really didn't like the lack of in-game defensive adjustments today. Pacific has two solid guards, and OSU never pressured them defensively. It was a non-traditional OSU defensive effort on the perimeter today. OSU is leaning to the bottom half of the PAC-12 after today's performance. Hope they get it together before PAC-12 play.

Mmmm, it's early yet. This was what, OSU's 6th game? Sounds like some of what Stanford is dealing with, life without a true PG. OSU was certainly competitive in their losses to Michigan and Notre Dame, so the quality is clearly there. The team will get a lot better in the next 4 months.

I do see in the box score that Pacific led by 5 with about 3:00 to play before OSU ended on a 11-2 run to seal the win. Finishing well in crunch time can cover up a lot of flaws.

You are correct, finishing in crunch time can cover up a lot of flaws, but at the moment, too many flaws to cover up against a top 25 caliber team. I agree, it is early, but the progress needs to come quick before the 1st PAC-12 game. 4 more games before OSU's first PAC-12 game. Rueck must shorten his rotation, and, Rueck needs to have a much quicker team on the floor when going against the 5-out offenses.

I did watch. Biggest concern was lack of energy/hustle. Beavs appeared to be moving in slow motion much of the game. At least twice they were beaten down court after they made a bucket. UOP had a 17-0 advantage in points off TOs and 29-6 advantage in fast break points. Those stats are both RIDICULOUS. Beavs just looked slow and unathletic. Like @LoTrader said the D wasn't impressive. UOP just seemed to score too easily most of the game. They hit plenty of mid range shots, sometimes those won't go in, but they were mostly wide open. The way James lit them up, there are probably a number of Pac 12 guards chomping at the bit waiting to see some D like that.

Also what was really concerning was what Pacific had done prior to this game--lost to UC Riverside by 8, San Jose St. by 11, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi by 20 and Rice by 8. Only D1 win was over CSUB by 13 (a team OSU beat by 31). There is absolutely no way this is a team that should've been leading the Beavs in Corvallis late in the 4th quarter.

Down goes Oregon, to UC Davis. Pac 12 is killing me this year. The new SEC, totally overrated in the preseason?

She has to be the most prolific undersized shot blockers that I have seen. She is only 5'11... but averaged 3.5 blocks last season.... was the Big South Defensive Player of the year.

Princeton upsets #22 FGCU 58-55.

Nice win for Carla and her Tigers.
Coach Smesko paid Princeton and Carla a really nice compliment in the postgame interview. Said that the team was extremely well coached, forces you to work extremely hard on offense, and it was as good of a defense as anything they've seen in the past 5 years.
