Wandering Lobos of New Mexico are leading Utah State by after a big win yesterday over the same team. While the Duff twins have cooled from that performance they are four for four from three land.

The wandering Lobos end the regular season against CSU on March 3rd and March 5th. Odd scheduling as the Tournament begins March 7th in the Mountain West. As the two top seeds CSU and New Mexico won't have to play till March 8th.

Air Force who edged New Mexico by 75-73 a couple of games ago is giving CSU a game. Leading by 8 right before half. An upset by Air Force would certainly leave the wandering Lobos smiling before the season ending series against the Rams

Lobos get close and for the second consecutive game and drop 90+ on US. The Duff twins have another strong game with a combined 28 points on 9 of 16 shooting (8 of 10 from three land) with eight boards and 13 assists and only one turn over.

Colorado State attempting to rally down by 6 with one and a half minutes left in the game. I suspect the Lobos are rooting hard for the same Air Force team that edged them 75-73 last week.

The Rams who have trailed since the 2:07 mark of the first quarter are fouling and hoping to pull out a victory trailing 63-70 with 46 seconds remaining.

That cheer you hear comes from a delighted NM Lobo squad.

Rams fall to 11-3 in conference. Lobos have a chance, with a sweep, to take the regular season title.

DePaul locked in a battle with an absolutely terrible Butler squad. Bulldogs by 1 midway thru Q3.

86-81 Butler over DePaul. Worst loss by a ranked team this season?

Where does the OSU loss to Utah rank?
Bad, but not as bad. I don't know, 2nd worst? I'd have to look at results throughout the whole season.

IUPUI despite finishing with a league best 11-3 mark garnered a 5th seed in the Horizon conference tournament due to seeding procedures to resolve what might be an imbalanced schedule. Milwaukee and Wright State were declared Co-Champions in the Horizon at 15-5, so despite IUPUI having the best "record" in the Horizon, they weren't the champions this season. What an odd quirk.

That is strange. Many conferences (e.g., ACC) are using winning percentage to account for the uneven schedule amongst the conference members. IUPUI would have a higher winning percentage than either Milwaukee or Wright State (or Green Bay).

I was wondering why in the heck they were playing on the road in the Horizon quarterfinals today. That's one messed up set of seeding procedures if that's the case.

WAC two game series between Utah Valley and Carlton begins this afternoon another odd covid impact as the conference has decided the regular season second place team goes to the dance. But they're still going to hold a conference tournament?

In my post over on WAC I learned to Creme and his analysis that unless Utah Valley is swept by sixth place Tarleton they go to the dance as second place finisher. Grand Canyon swept Utah Valley earlier in the year but had more covid cancellations than Utah Valley in conference.

Horizon is pretty convoluted. IUPUI w/ the best winning %, but they went 1-3 against Milwaukee and Green Bay and didn't play Wright St. Not even slightly apparent that they are the best out of the top 4 teams in the conference.

Green Bay went 3-3 against the other top 3.

Milwaukee went 4-2 against the other 3.

Wright St. went 2-2 against Green Bay and Milwaukee and skipped IUPUI.

Making it even more muddled is that several of the back to back series were sweeps.

Kind of like a WCBB forum created for one specific school yet fans from all the other schools come to post about their teams on it and then lob slight aspersions as said school? You mean that "messed up set of procedures"?

I think the challenge is that there really isn't a universal site that is as active as the Boneyard. While I know that I've stuck my foot in it a few times with how I've phrased things, or disagreed with the Husky-tinted glasses, I've largely appreciated the view offered by the fans here, and I can enjoy rooting for teams like Marquette against the Huskies even if that's viewed as sacrilege on a forum as this.

This is the final few days for the Big South regular season. Crazy year for scheduling... HPU didnt have any games canceled so they played a full 20 games... but Hampton has completed 13 games.. and Campbell just finished their 14 game tonight. In action tonight... some intrastate matchups.. The Campbell camels utterly destroyed the UNC-Asheville Bulldogs 65-34. The Blue Hose of Presbyterian defeated Winthrop 61-41. The same teams meet up tomorrow.

A key game in the Southland tonight with 6th-place Nicholls battling 7th-place McNeese in Thibodeaux. Nicholls took the first game between these two teams by 20 points. This is Nicholls' last regular season game. McNeese will play 4th-place Lamar on Saturday.

Utah Valley at Tarleton 5pm MST on the whacked digital Network.

Currently Utah Valley is leading Grand Canyon at 9 and 4 in the conference after edging Tarleton 60-58 yesterday . The Antelopes at 8-4 have no games remaining.

If Tarleton upsets Utah Valley I wonder how the determination will be made for the second place team. UV would be 9-5 .642 , GCU would be 8-4 .667

Grand Canyon has swept both these teams

I know UCF is little loved in these parts but UCF's own forums barely discuss women's basketball and this was definitely the most active place I've found.

The folks here have been very welcoming and open to my comments about NC State, so I don't think they'll mind you sticking up for, and promoting, UCF. I don't know much about UCF other than who their coach is, and I always find it enlightening to hear from fans of the other teams.

Since the General WBB sub-forum was created, I spend most of my time here and don't interact very much with the UCONN fans anymore, but I have ventured on to their own board on occasion.

UCF is a kindred program to the ASU Sun Devils. Both programs have developed a culture around defense that is focused on intensity, fundamentals, and a physical style of play.

Some here on the BY have characterized this as ugly basketball. I don't think that does justice to the dedication of a program to 40 minutes of strong physical defense.

Defense well played as a thing of beauty. Think of the turnover generated by team defense, quick hands, in your face physicality. BYers cheer Niki Muhl or Paige as they turn that kind of defense into points.

Think of the block that robs an opponent of not only a hoop but self-respect and dignity. What BYer hasn't cheered Liv imposing her will in this way. A thing of beauty.

Who doesn't admire the defensive player beating their opponent to the spot and taking the charge. BYers love Muhl for her hard nosed play and an ability to do just that. A thing of beauty.

How often have I heard praise for her physical hard nose defense exactly what CTT and Coach Abe coach.
