I know, a day late and a dollar short. My sincerest apologies for the dereliction of duty. Yesterday was commandeered by a higher calling.

On the bright side, I didn't get to watch a certain game, and I doubt I'll be watching it anytime soon, as I've pretty much had my fill of masochism lately.

Huge game in the muddled midsection of the ACC on now. Duke at Miami in a rescheduled game that was originally scheduled to be played Dec. 19. Third game in six days for Duke.

I feel so lonely talking to myself in the game chat

Cal Baptist defeated Seattle U 76-66 yesterday.

Top pg Ane Olaeta had 22 points and 6 assists.

Olaeta is now tied for D1 apg at 7.8, with Notre Dame's Olivia Miles

CBU plays the Tarleton Texans on Thursday, @ home at 6pm PST

I've been there before. Not much rhyme or reason regarding when there are other people in there or not.

Oregon St. beat Colorado by 3 in OT yesterday. Much needed win for OSU. Colorado has quickly come crashing back to reality after their undefeated OOC. Got some work to do to show they are more than a middle of the Pac team.

Are they eligible for the NCAA's this year, or do they still have to wait?

Not sure about "crashing". Colorado lost close games to 2 good programs.

I believe Stanford will win the PAC-12 conference, Oregon #2. AZ, Colorado, OSU (in some order) will occupy 3-5 at end of season. I believe Cal, UW, ASU (in some order) will occupy 10-12 at end of season. UCLA, USC, Washington State, UT (in some order) will occupy 6-9. This is of course barring any significant injuries, and no more cancelled games due to Covid protocols.

Tough, grind it out victory for MY Blue Devils over a scrappy Miami squad.. 58-49 :)
If tough refers to being able to watch it without covering my eyes, I'd agree. Both teams had rough days in certain areas. Duke is lucky Miami was only able to get 7 points off of turnovers.

NAU Jacks visit Bozeman on Jan 20th to take on Montana State.

The Jacks home game last Sat against Northern Colo was cancelled due to Covid in NAU program.

Look to the Moran twins to continue their strong performances on Thursday night.

High Point snatched victory outta the jaws of defeat... with a come from behind victory over the Bulldogs of UNC-Asheville.... 61-57. Trailing 57-53 with under a minute left... the Panthers sharpened their claws on defense and held the bulldogs scoreless down the stretch.

 Prowler the Panther looks alot more intimidating in person.

History was made tonight in the Big South Conference. NC A&T finally notches its first ever conference victory. Its been a rough season and rough start in the conference for my aggies.. alot of key players have missed time due to covid protocols.... but I feel a winning streak coming on

The Iowa State - Texas match up was an eye opener. I didn't think that ISU would have struggled that badly without the Joens sisters. The wheels came off big time in the third.

Both Ryan and Donarski seemed tentative which explains the turnovers. Mind you, Texas' defense isn't something anyone wants to face.

The post position struggled for most of the game. It didn't matter was out there, they couldn't generate offense which could have helped to take the pressure off the guards.

5 total assists by Iowa State has to be an all-time program low:

I've watched Iowa St play quite a bit and it's completely understandable to me why they struggled without the Joens sisters. Not only did they not have their scoring and rebounding but Ashley is a matchup nightmare for defenses. You have to play her as tightly at the 3-pt line as you do Donarski and Ryan which allows the other post some room. And then she has that ability to dribble her way into a shot you can't imagine she could get, so when the double team comes one of the three outside threats are unguarded.

There's no way to make up for Ashley's absence. No disagreement there, however I didn't think the drop off would be that significant.

When they were down by 9 at half time, they still were getting small runs of success here and there. Thought the game would continue along those lines, even if it resulted in a loss.

Huge game coming up tonight between NC State and Louisville.

Friday and Saturday don't have a whole lot to get excited about, but Sunday's lineup is pretty compelling.
