Is his contract with UConn signed Or is just a memorandum of understanding?

Washington is desperate for a big name. Mora won’t be it. Regardless I’m sure his buyout still applies regardless of pen to paper.

If it was 2025 and we were sitting at 10-0 and the pundits were debating whether we belonged in the CFP, I’d be worried. In the current situation, not so much.

Would have to think Moorhead is high on their list.
Absent that… the connect-the-dot names in the Feldman/Athletic article are:
  • Nevada Head Coach Jay Norvell
  • Fresno State Head Coach Kalen DeBoer
  • Oregon Offensive Coordinator Joe Moorhead
  • Wake Forest Head Coach Dave Clawson
  • Oklahoma Defensive Coordinator Alex Grinch
  • Former Philadelphia Eagles Super Bowl-winning coach Doug Pederson,
  • Central Michigan Head Coach Jim McElwain
  • BYU Head Coach Kalani Sitake
  • Cal Head Coach Justin Wilcox
BYU’s Sitake getting some increased chatter this morning…

Yes I believe the contract is signed. That said OP is not wrong. Mora has said (in fact it contributed to his firing from the Falcons because of his public statements about that) that the Washington job is his dream job, even stating he'd leave the Falcons in the middle of a playoff push to take the job.

Regardless, he's not going to be a candidate there this time around... and if he is the next time the job comes open, then he's managed to right the ship here and it's a good thing.

AD Dave! Lands us a major talent while other programs are asleep. But for his leadership and early action, we would not be in the fabled cat-bird seat as we are now. BOOM!
I doubt Washington would have interest in Coach Mora - that is a very attractive job and they should get some really good candidates. Not saying that Coach Mora won’t be good for this program.

Mora flirted with Washington when he was at UCLA but it didn’t go far.

The guy has no filter and it’s great. Like how he went after Brock Huard for calling Rosen soft and then made nice with him.

Also, everyone knows that Washington was going to be open. If he was hoping to get that job he wouldn’t have taken this one.
