At no point during the summer season did Sam Favieri have an ERA over 3.00, so he was pretty consistent. Like many young pitchers Favieri has issues with control (17 walks in 22.1 innings) but at the same time he was difficult to hit, only allowing 10 hits off him. He had 7 appearances with Mystic this summer, the last 4 of them were starts.

Chris Brown's bat seems to be finally coming to life towards the end of the summer season in the Futures League. He is now hitting over .200, which isn't bad since he was hitting around .150 for a good portion of the summer. Between the UConn spring season and the summer season, Brown has probably played more baseball games this year than he has ever done. Have to think he is on the tired side. He has been playing almost everyday in Vermont this summer. I'm sure Brown has first call on the 3B job at UConn this fall and spring, and that it is his to lose, so to speak.

I think it’s pretty safe to say that Christian is coming back this season which is huge for the team!

Chris Brown's bat really turned around nicely late in the summer season with Vermont. Prior to July 24, Brown was hitting .163 for the summer season. From July 24 to the end of the regular summer season Brown hit .327 in that 15 game stretch, with 4 doubles and 4 homers during that time period as well. A terrific end to the regular season. Vermont has made the Futures League playoffs (semifinals and finals are both best of 3 series), so we will to see if Brown can keep producing at the plate for a few more games.
