UConn baseball doing a different type of recruiting:

Perhaps Reggie Crawford's drones have grown in size as well.

You have no idea how efficient he was. If not for an error by Bush he would have gotten through 2 innings in under 15 pitches.

his breaking stuff I kid you not is at 66 mph on the gun. It is so slow it’s unreal. Fastball sits at mid 80s. He is the definition of pitch to contact guy.

I heard a rumor that Crawford hurt his arm. Can anyone verify? Or tell me its a fallacy?

Good to see T.C. Simmons making some noise this game. The UConn baseball twitter feed has been very quiet about him this fall so far.

Crawford experienced some discomfort and was removed out of precaution. He appeared fine thereafter so I’m not sure I would be overly concerned. They removed Korey Morton too after he got hit in head at plate and was laughing and joking later saying that was staffs call not his to come out of game.

Matt Garbowski was player who did most to help his stock. He is gonna get some time behind the plate. Some very hard contact and did a very nice job receiving the ball.

David Smith has certainly been getting a lot of attention during fall ball. I had mentioned before that I envisioned him being used in a Tony Phillips type utility role, getting plenty of playing time while filling in at several positions in the field. I'm also starting to wonder that Smith might find a more permanent home in the infield, which possibly could move Christian Fedko into more of a D.H. role for the Huskies. We'll just have to see how this all plays out.
