Article on Barstool about Musgrove and being checked for substances last night. First off, his spin rate on all pitches were highly elevated and Buck checked out a ball early on in the game.

Article goes on to comment on how regular ol' sunscreen (is slippery) combined with rosin is super sticky....and Musgrove went to the rosin bag all night long. Like an interesting amount, especially considering it was a cool fall night and wasn't 95 and humid in Texas.

Eh, at the end of the day, I don't blame stuff like this for a loss. But it is an interesting explanation for how good his stuff looked all night.

What are we expecting from Syndergaard tonight?

Phillies no hit in a World Series game?

That’s a shame.
Another thing the Mets and Yankees tried to accomplish but failed.

Syndergaard only pitching to max of 11 batters so Alvarez doesn’t see him twice?!? Wow.

While we sit back wondering if they’ll re-sign Vogelbach.

There are around a dozen others I am more curious about.
Agreed. Although I am hoping they bring back Vogelbach for a bench spot, he was surprisingly good after they got him

I’m a big fan. But he’s nowhere near the top of our priority list, which is what the OP was implying.

Philly fans thought the Astros were gonna roll over in Philly like they were some soft NL west team when they were up 2

I like Vogelbach. He outperformed expectations and was a positive force among teammates and fans.

I’d like to see him back, but we need an entire bullpen; at least three starting pitchers, at least one of whom has to be an ace; and a center fielder.

I hear we are not going to make a play for Judge, so it sounds like our priorities are:

Diaz
Nimmo
deGrom
Two more SP
Five relievers
Big bat

Haha how stupid was that, pulling Wheeler in the 6th on 70 pitches. Analytics have removed common sense. Astros got a soft single it’s not like Wheeler was getting rocked, your ace gets into a jam so what, you stick with him it’s your aces job to get out of the jam.

Nice!!! That shows you just how important he is to our success. Huge deal.

On the Jake front, I watched teams like the Padres and Astros trot out guys who were gutty with great stuff. I don't think we "need" the "greatest pitcher ever" to win it all.

It's a big contract for a RP but I love it. Window is the next 2 years with this group and you try to win now before years 4-5 are tough

You know I’m torn about Jake. But we’re not getting Judge and Uncle $teve has to put fannies in the seats. It’s not my money and we need an ace. I’m worried about Jake’s durability but I don’t know who is a better bet. And he creates a buzz, which is important in New York.

It had to be big. He’s the best one on the market.

I'd also rather give him a big contract than make a big trade for a reliever, especially with the current owner.

Also, if you are willing to give an RP 102M, you better get Judge or deGrom.
